Exciting Times Ahead

Well hello there.  So sorry for my extended absence, but there are lots of changes coming to the Gallimore household in 2012, and we are EXCITED!!  (Before anyone gets too excited, let me go ahead and squash the rumors...  There will be no (planned) baby in 2012.)  That being said...

Boy did I have quite the unproductive break.  I suppose that's the main reason why I haven't blogged in weeks.  I literally sat down on my couch Monday after my final exam, turned on my TV, filled up my cup with Diet Sunkist, surrounded myself with lots of chocolate goodies, and did absolutely nothing.  I mean, what's there to blog about when you're sitting around being a vegetable fruit vegetable?  (As a side note, I wanted to say vegetable, but I really don't like vegetables, but I love fruit...  But then to call myself a fruit...  Well...)  And yes, I am that person that orders a double cheeseburger, a large fry, and a DIET soda.  Hey, it's the effort that counts, right??

On another note, getting back to school was awfully difficult.  I'm pretty convinced that I was not supposed to go to school the first day back.  It began to snow the night before (not that a little snow will stop me...  I did go to school in Athens, WV, here...), and my friend Patricia could not make it up the hill to get in her subdivision.  So John and I brave the fierce snowstorm (okay, mild flurries) and go pick her up.  So no big deal...  Yet.

The next morning, I wake up super early.  I want to have enough time to fix my breakfast, start my car and let it warm, and get to school safely (which is especially hard in these areas, seeing as how there seem to be a lot of bad drivers when it's sunny and warm outside).  So here we go.  I get ready, I'm making my breakfast, things are going great...  Until I go to start my car.  Can't find my key.  I look EVERYWHERE (seriously, everywhere).  Spent about 20 minutes looking for my key.  Can't find it.  Freak out.  We can't go anywhere.  What the crap is wrong with me, why can't I just keep up with a lousy key???

You wouldn't believe it if I told you where I found it (why do people say that...  like I'm not going to tell you...).  I had put it in the pocket of my vest the night before when I went to pick up Patricia, and there was an ever so slight hole in the pocket of my vest.  And of course, my key had gone straight through that hole and had traveled in the lining all the way around to the back of my vest.  And this next part is like a bad infomercial..

BUT WAIT!  THERE'S MORE!!

So I finally find my key, and I go out to start my car.  Now for about three weeks (or maybe more, who's counting??), my father had been telling me to go get my battery in my car replaced because when it got cold, my car was not going to start.  It was about 14 degrees here that morning.  I'm betting you can guess what happened (yes, he told me so).

So I then have to wake up John on his day off and make him come outside and roll his car out of the garage and start my car.  I guess the good part of this is that Patricia and I slid sideways into class with about 30 seconds remaining.  What.a.morning.  I went and got my battery replaced that day.

I'm sure at this point that most of you are pretty tired of reading this.  Probably the only reason you've made it this far is because I talked about exciting changes at the beginning and you were just dying to find out what those exciting changes are.  Well, wait no more!

We're buying a house!!  Eek, I'm so excited!!!  I told my husband the other day that we were being so grown up, and he responded by telling me all about how he was looking at radio controlled cars and websites dedicated to designing a man cave...  I digress.

Happy Monday!!
